Within our community, there is a diversity in languages! In the winter of 2019/2020 we did as survey asking the question “what is your language dialect?” This is what the composition of the languages in our community looks like.

Keep in mind there are a few in our community who can speak/write in 2 or 3 of these languages in addition to English. Also keep in mind that within the Cree language there are “l” and “n” dialects used and that it has a standardized writing system called syllabics. Writing systems of Oji-Cree and Ojibway vary, these languages were passed on orally.
